Yoiks! I lost my files!

It happened just recently. Those were not actually my own files but somebody's. I felt guilty that I did not volunteer to backup her files sooner. Well, i learned my lesson.

Hey! Can you just take this survey?

Thanks for your time! Ciao! :)

false alarm!

my hands have been so full these days that i haven't had the time to update my blog much less to inform you that my yahoo email account has been restored.

yeah, i'm guilty (bring in the prisoner! the judge summoned. hehehe. but that's another story) .

anyway, back to the topic. i've overreacted. my yahoo email account was not hacked.

and the IT department kept on reassuring me that they have no power to block my email account. although i have another theory as to what had happened, it is already irrelevant. i tell you, it is nothing serious.

what the heck! what's important now is, i can peek on my yahoo emails especially during office hours. hehehe. :)

hey! i thought i am busy?!

did you receive an email from me?

let me know if you recently got an email from my yahoo email address. if you got one, that proves that my email account is most probably hacked by somebody. if you've read my previous post, you would know that i have not accessed my yahoo email address since the other day.

and i suspect that it was the brilliant masterpiece of the hacker. he/she must be someone who is so envious of me. (hahaha! this is my blog, remember? okay, joke!)

let me explain. as i've mentioned in my previous post, i am wondering who would take interest in hacking my yahoo email account.

i have this friend who, few months ago, sent me an email asking me to help him. in that email, he said that he was in africa at that particular time and he was robbed of his money in his hotel room. considering that he was always travelling around the world, i would say that his email was believable.

but considering that i am not financially capable and i know that he has lots of rich friends who could rescue him if he was really in dire need of help, i dismissed that email. i later confirmed from him that his email account was indeed hacked which, as a consequence, he no longer has access to it.

that's scary! do you think my email account is also hacked?

by the way, if you did receive a very recent email from me, please let me know by forwarding it to my gmail account thru guiamadelo@gmail.com. thanks..

help! my yahoo email account must have been hacked!

i don't understand! for the past two days already, i have not been able to access my yahoo email account. when i tried the email addresses of my colleagues, theirs were okay! so, what's wrong with mine?!

i remember the hacking of personal email account of the republican's vice presidential aspirant sarah palin was on the news recently. but who would be interested in hacking mine? i'm not a prominent public personality (or am i? hehehe. joke!). i don't even look like sarah palin (or do i? hehehe. joke again!)

kidding aside, i am really itching to get my hands on my yahoo emails. in fact, as of this writing, i am currently taking a break from my office work as I am worried sick as to why this has happened to me.

i've been using that email address for almost nine years already. it is already part of my identity for my cyber and non-cyber friends. and i don't have any other means on how to get in touch with them...

help!

restoration of P4.9B original budget of COA, for real?

I just read an article from the Philippine Star today that the house VOWS to restore COA'S original P4.9B budget. As a COAn myself, I'll just keep my fingers, as well as, my arms crossed.

Read on the article below:

Citing the Commission on Audit’s gargantuan task of checking abuses in the disbursement of government funds, the House of Representatives yesterday vowed to restore the constitutional body’s original P4.9-billion budget for 2009.

“They (COA auditors) have been doing their job efficiently and credibly and with integrity. How can they do their job if we don’t give them what they need?” said Siquijor Rep. Orlando Fua, who heads the sub-committee of the House appropriations committee.

Fua said lawmakers are unanimous in wanting to restore COA’s proposed P4.9-billion budget, but he clarified they cannot do it unilaterally as they still have to seek clearance from Malacañang.

“We cannot restore. There is a move to restore, but we have to get first the permission of Malacañang,” Fua explained.

Bayan Muna Rep. Teddy Casiño said the move sends a strong signal to the executive department that operations of constitutional bodies like COA should not be impaired, because they are essential to a democracy.

“The majority and the minority have a shared concern. Cutting the budget (of COA) sends the wrong signal. It’s a political statement coming from Congress. We should take steps not to reduce the COA budget,” he said.

Akbayan Rep. Risa Hontiveros noted the other day the shrinking budget of COA.

She said the annual budget of COA has declined steadily since President Arroyo assumed office in 2001.

Hontiveros provided Congress journalists a yearly comparison between the increasing national budget, now pegged at P1.4 trillion, and the P4-billion COA budget for 2009, or a measly 0.29 share of the total budget pie.

The party-list congresswoman noticed that since 2002, COA yearly allocations – in percentage share – have been diminishing: 0.54 in 2002, 0.48 in 2003, 0.46 in 2004, 0.42 in 2005, 0.38 in 2006, 0.36 in 2007, 0.33 in 2008 and 0.29 by next year.

The budget for 2001, when Mrs. Arroyo took over from President Joseph Estrada, was a carryover of the previous year’s. Budget allocations of all agencies – from the executive, legislative and judiciary – are deliberated and approved a year in advance.

The national budget for 2002 was P742 billion, P825 billion in 2003, P867 billion in 2004, P947 billion in 2005, P1 trillion in 2006, P1.1 trillion in 2007 and P1.2 trillion in 2008.

“A weaker COA means more corruption in government,” warned Hontiveros. “It’s as if the government has been punishing COA for doing its job. We should in fact be increasing the budget of COA, and not the other way around.”

The deputy minority leader also lamented the fact that the Department of Budget and Management had “disallowed” three important items in the COA budget that are crucial to its task of checking financial abuses in government.

Foremost is the minuscule P5-million confidential and intelligence funds, followed by the P47 million for training of state auditors including the computerization of its “data-rich” functions, and the P100-million capital outlay for the improvement of COA satellite offices.

“This decrease is not just strange. It appears as if there is an intent to impair and weaken the institution itself,” said Hontiveros, who reminded the public that it was COA which exposed the P728-million fertilizer scam, among other irregularities.

i'll never love this way again..

it's as if he was my first love..

the only difference is, i was no longer naive with the way things are..

i'd never loved anybody as much as i love him.. and i guess, i will never love anybody the way i love him.. (yes, every line of the song says it all)

we promised each other to hold on and not to let go..

obviously, i was the one who first broke that promise..

I'll Never Love this Way Again

You looked inside my fantasies
And made each one come true
Something no one else
Had ever found a way to do
I've kept the mem'ries one by one
Since you took me in
I know I'll never love this way again

I know I'll never love this way again
So I keep holdin' on
Before the good is gone
I know I'll never love this way again
Hold on, hold on
Hold on

A fool will lose tomorrow
Reaching out for yesterday
I won't turn my head in sorrow
If you should go away
I'll stand here and remember
Just how good it's been
And I know I'll never love this way again

I know I'll never love this way again
So I keep holdin' on
Before the good is gone
I know I'll never love this way again
Hold on, hold on
Hold on...

I know I'll never love this way again
So I keep holdin' on
Before the good is gone
I know I'll never love this way again
Hold on, hold on

I know I'll never love this way again
So I keep holdin' on
Before the good is gone
I know I'll never love this way again
Hold on, hold on

this is my song...

i don't feel well now. i just recently ended a relationship. i have my reasons.. i hope he would understand that..

it was too good to be true.. that's what i would always tell him..

i guess, some good things never last..

for now, this is my song..

to him,

Broken-Hearted Me

Every now and then I cry
Every night you keep stayin' on my mind
All my friends say I'll survive
It just takes time

But I don't think time is gonna heal this broken heart
No, I don't see how it can if it's broken all apart
A million miracles could never stop the pain
Or put all the pieces together again

No, I don't think time is gonna heal this broken heart
No, I don't see how it can while we are still apart
And when you hear this song
I hope that you will see
That time won't heal a broken-hearted me

Every day is just the same
Playin' games, different lovers, different names
They keep sayin' I'll survive
It just takes time

But I don't think time is gonna heal this broken heart
No, I don't see how it can if it's broken all apart
A million miracles could never stop the pain
Or put all the pieces together again

No, I don't think time is gonna heal this broken heart
No, I don't see how it can while we are still apart
And when you hear this song
I hope that you will see
That time won't heal a broken-hearted me
Time won't heal a broken-hearted me

to join or unite..

Since i am planning to stop working out at Fitness First by end of September this year, i decided to make most of my remaining time there.

Last week, I joined a 1-hr session of gentle flow yoga for the first time. I had attended a yoga class at Brahma Kumaris in Tagaytay before but it was more of a meditative kind.

Accordingly, yoga is an ancient tradition of self-healing and self-realization that incorporates postures (Asanas) and breathing. Yoga enhances well being by increasing physical strength, mental focus and clarity.

The word Yoga itself comes from the Sanskrit word “Yuj” meaning to join or unite. This implies the joining all aspects of the individual – body with mind and mind with soul.

Flow Yoga is Fitness First’s exclusive brand of Yoga especially designed for the health club market and environment. This program comes in 3 formats to suit all participants regardless of fitness level and experience.

Gentle Flow, which i chose to take up first, is a slower paced, flowing class that synchronizes movement with breath. Taking a focus on relaxation and stress release, this class is ideal for those new to Yoga (like me!) and exercise, pregnant participants (not me!), and those seeking a gentler workout (yeah, for a change).

I must admit the gentle flow yoga had a positive effect on me. it was indeed a stress reliever activity.

I will try Dynamic Flow Yoga next time..

my sunday afternoon..

i am in fitness first right now.

thank God, i just finished a 2hr-session of working out after spending my time lounging around, reading two broadsheets, drinking two cups of brewed coffee, and making phone calls.

i was almost tempted to go home after attending the Feast this morning. you see, it was raining cats and dogs when i dropped by mega mall to take my lunch. i was already imagining myself at home, reading a book or watching a dvd copy of ally mcbeal tv series.

actually, it was because of recalling a recent picture of a chubby me with the best-selling author larry gamboa which finally made me muster my strength to burn my calories off. huhuhu!

well, i've done my time here. i must go!

tomorrow is another day..

Do you want to survive?

I've already read this article from the newsletter i got from The Feast exactly a month ago. According to Bo Sanchez, in order to survive, one should think like an entrepreneur, not like an employee. To have an entrepreneurial thinking, he suggested five options. Of which, two options struck me. These are: 1) get more training and 2) keep your day job and start a business on the side.

the food we eat: how safe?

i was not able to get hold of the tabloid last friday. so, i don't know if they had a follow-up article about the worm discovered in chowking noodles (see my previous post). this is really alarming! i've heard so many stories from friends and colleagues who had these kind of traumatic experiences. some of these are:

1) pubic hair (of all hairs!) found in my officemate's hot & spicy chicken meal (at a fastfood chain in cagayan de oro city)

2) dead cockroach (thank God, it is already dead! hehe) found after my colleague consumed (bottoms up?!) his noodle soup (at a chinese restaurant in malate)

3) hair (don't know what kind) found by a tablemate in her braised beef (at a fastfood chain in glorietta). fortunately or unfortunately, her ordered meal was replaced by a hot, steaming braised beef (i wonder if they just took the hair out and reheat it)

i also had my own account of these kind of nightmares but mine is considered light since i did not find something in my food (so far.. or is it just that i was not looking?). it was in a fastfood chain in butuan city wherein part of the glass wall at the dining area was always teeming with BIG flies. i just dismissed it hoping the kitchen area (where food is prepared and utmost proper hygiene is observed) is not as bad as the dining area. is i don't know if those creatures still exist there today..

considering these restaurants are considered reputable, who would have thought that in terms of cleanliness, aling tindeng's carenderia is just as competitive as they are?

i am wondering, what proper actions are being taken into by the concerned agencies e.g., Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) and respective Local Govenment Units (LGUs) about it?

while you are also thinking about it, allow me please to enjoy now my burger meal. bon appetit! :)

unclean chowking food?! is this true?

this is really horrifying! i almost vomited when i read from the tabloid this morning that there is a complaint on the food served at chowking. i was munching something for my breakfast then (not chowking breakfast meal, i assure you) when the headline caught my attention. you could imagine the ordeal i went through while preventing myself from throwing up (sigh!).

going back to the subject, i don't usually read tabloids as the news they feature is most of the time exaggerated. but this article really bothers me! as a person who is always on the go and who has no time cooking my own food and who loves chinese cuisine, i eat at chowking almost every weekend. their yang chow rice topped with pork siomai is really yummy! (gosh!)

my concern now is, where am i going to take my lunch this weekend and thereafter? big problem...

Money... money... money...

I just could not understand other people who believe that talking about money is a taboo. Living in this real world requires purchasing power to buy things you need (or if you have more of it, you can acquire even your wants). And to have a purchasing power, you should have a medium, and that's money. Unless of course you still live in a stone age wherein bartering of goods was a way of life and money was still unheard of at that time.

To say that money is not important is hypocrisy. If it is not, then why should we still need to earn a living and try to climb the corporate ladder? Why could we just throw away the money we have right now and go to the mountains and live there till we die? We could do the latter but i am sure very exceptional few (if there is any) will take action. Why is that? That is something to ponder on..

Saving vs. Inflation

I know some people who complain that they do not have enough financial means and yet they do not do something about it. They are so conservative that they just put their money at the bank earning a measly interest of 4% less government share of 20%. Unfortunately, that kind of saving is way too low from the current inflation rate of 11.4%, the highest in 14 years as reported by the Philippine Star dated July 5, 2008.

How should one solve this dilemma? Be financial literate. Ask me how..

Yes, Money Can't Buy Love!

I got an email recently from a frustrated suitor lambasting me for all the fuss i make about the importance of money. Instead of keeping my silence (which i did for a few days already), i decided to defend myself thru this post (i owe it to myself anyway, lest he would think that i am guilty of his accusation). Here it is:

I agree, money can't buy love! But who says I am going to buy love? My dear ex-husband married me for my money but he realized i was too smart for him! One thing that convinced me to finally leave him is, you guessed it right, m-o-n-e-y. He was gradually draining me of my financial resources. I emphasized the word "gradually" because he couldn't do it in a snap. If I stayed on with my marriage because of that stupid thing called "love" (since according to that email sender, love is more important than money), what would have become of me? To read more about my marital life, check out this - http://life-guia.blogspot.com/

Second point, that email sender must be living in a fairy tale world where all that matters is love and nothing else. Well, i admit there are relationships that survived without money but those are few and in these real times, you could only find it in novels, movies, and tv drama series.

So much with this post, I would rather suggest to my email sender that he read and try to savor my previous post entitled, "Why Bro. Bo Talks About Money". For now, I'll save my thoughts for something else and look forward to and... enjoy my weekend! TGIF! :)

Why Bro. Bo Sanchez Talks About Money

Many may wonder why Bro. Bo Sanchez, a catholic lay preacher, also preaches about money. Read below an article he posted in his blog at http://bosanchez.ph

Money Doesn't Buy Happiness; Money Buys Freedom

And I Urge You To Use That Freedom To Love God More!

Once upon a time, I was poor.
And proud of it.

I was a happy single missionary who didn’t think about money, didn’t touch money, didn’t save money, and didn’t want to have anything to do with money.
At that time, I really believed that saving money was a lack of trust in God.
I also believed that insurance was for the spiritually weak. “Jesus is my only insurance,” I’d tell everyone.

And businessmen? Man, I pitied them. I figured their souls were loitering in the brink of Hell. Why? Imagine, all they think about the whole day was money—the very instruments of the devil.

I repeat: I was poor and proud of it.

How poor? Before entering Jollibee, I had to first pull out my wallet and count how much money I had. Could I buy a burger today? I remember the days when I had to turn around because my cash (or coins!) wasn’t enough.

I was proud that I was poor, deprived, and suffering.

It somehow made me feel holy.

Love The Lord With All Your Heart, Mind, Strength—
And Money Too!

Today, my beliefs have totally changed.
And that’s why I’m being criticized.
By religious people no less.
They say I teach too much about money.
“Bo, why have you changed?” they ask me, “You now keep talking about savings and investments and business. Where’s the sweet and simple guy who used to talk only about God and prayer and holiness and heaven? We want that guy back…”
Sorry, but you won’t get that guy back.

Because God has changed me.

Let me tell you why I changed: I decided to love more.
Don’t get me wrong. I still preach about God and prayer and holiness and heaven. (After all, money is only one of my many topics.) But these past few years, I’ve been very burdened by the practical, down-to-earth, very REAL needs of God’s people.

Here are the facts:
• Many good Christian families are buried in debt. They can’t sleep at night. They’re terrified every time the phone rings.
• Many good Christian husbands and wives fight a lot because of money problems. (According to surveys, 50% of marital conflicts are money problems. One survey even says it’s 80%!)
• Many good Christians will be retiring without any savings or investments—and will grow older and poorer as the years go by.
• Many good Christians are living in poverty, and their children are suffering from poor health and poor education.

And that’s the reason why I changed: I want to help Christians get out of debt, solve their financial problems, and gain more financial blessings to help more people!

This is my commitment. This is my mission. This is my passion. (I don’t care how many people criticize me for it.) I’ve devoted my entire life to help anyone who’s suffering by giving practical wisdom through my preaching and writing.
Whether spiritually, emotionally, or financially.

For Many People,

Unless There’s Financial Freedom,

There Can Be No Real Freedom In Their Life

You know my story.

Because my beliefs have changed, my financial life has changed as well.
Can I brag? (Not to brag but to emphasize a point.)

I’m no longer poor.

I now run small businesses, earn through real estate, mutual funds, and the stock market.

I’m now able to help the poor in a way I couldn’t do before. And I’m able to give more to the ministry of the Lord because of the financial blessings He has given me. I don’t just give 10% of my income. Because my lifestyle has remained simple (no fancy cars, no big house), I can give much, much more than 10% to God. (By the way, I’ve also learned that when I give, I receive so much more. I invite you to give regularly to the Lord’s work. Join me in my ministry. Log on at www.KerygmaFamily.com now.)

Today, I also believe that holiness doesn’t have anything to do with being poor or being rich. Holiness has everything to do with love—and one can do that whether one is poor or rich.

Money doesn’t buy happiness; Money buys freedom.
Bad people will use that freedom in a bad way—and be miserable as hell.
Good people will use that freedom in a good way—and be happy as heaven.
To be more precise, good people will use that freedom to do good.

It’s that simple.

Let me give you a small example of what I mean.

Today, I no longer stop in front of Jollibee to count my money.
And today, I can do something I could hardly do before: I can now invite the poor for a free lunch. Something I do constantly with joy.

In other words, my prayer has changed.
Before, my prayer was, “Lord, I need something to eat. Please give me money.”
Today, my prayer is, “Lord, send me people who have nothing to eat today and let me be a blessing to them.”

Friends, I’m using my freedom to love.
And after all these years of helping so many people in their spiritual lives, I’ve come to a striking realization: Especially for those children or parents depending on them, there can be no real Freedom in life without Financial Freedom.
I want to continue to teach you how to grow your money without robbing your soul.

May your dreams come true,

Bo Sanchez

how to grow your finances

i am so excited to attend another wonderful gathering at The Feast tomorrow! By the way, since Valle Verde Club couldn't accommodate too many attendees at the same time, the organizers of The Feast have now three schedules: 730am, 10am, and 1230pm.

Tomorrow's talk will be about finances. Bro. Bo is so passionate on sharing of not only about God's word but also of how to have financial blessings, thereby, have the opportunity and capability to help other people with these bountiful blessings.

See you at The Feast! Have a great weekend. :)

how to love your body

I attended The Feast last Sunday at Valle Verde, Pasig City. It was my nth time to be part of such wonderful gathering. As usual, the praise and worship was amazing!

Bro. Bo Sanchez talked about Power Key 17 of the 24 Building Blocks of the Champion's Life: How to Love Your Body. What struck me most was the topic on Reducing Emotional and Physical Toxins. Accordingly, there was this study about two groups of people. One group was tasked to write about superficial things while the other one was assigned to write about the traumatic events of their life in which they would have to release their stress into it. Guess what?! The 2nd group was found out to be happier than the other one.

So, writing about my marital history is keeping me on the right track all along. ;)

You want financial freedom but you just don't know how to fight for it?

You want to know how money works and how you can make money work for you?

But how do you increase your financial IQ? Schools rarely teach it. Families hardly talk about it. Unfortunately, unless you understand the power of money, you can't put it to work for you.

john ford coley and tita meldy

we watched the concert of john ford coley just few nights ago. the ticket costs P2000 each. but of course i did not pay for such. hehe. i was just lucky that i got two free tickets and i invited a friend to join my boss, my officemates and me. and guess who else were with us during that unforgettable rendezvous with john? no less than MY tita imelda marcos! she is so admirably gracious as ever.

going back to the concert, we were about only a hundred people watching just enough to fill the small but cozy hotel ballroom. talking about being intimate with the VIPs! hehe. we were serenaded by john as my companions tried but still failed not to be carried away by his immortal love songs such as Sad to Belong, Broken-Hearted Me, and Where Do We Go From Here.

by the way, where is england dan? ;]

my subic memoir

i must say, our trip in subic was strictly business. we had a reassessment meeting on the recently-concluded exit conference with management. but we still managed to escape and had our... okay, i'll just end my post here. my lips are sealed.. for now.. ;]

subic, here i come!

in a few days, we will be having a company outing disguised as team building conference. i am so excited! this is the first time that i will be exploring subic. i am looking forward to shop for chocolates at duty-free shops (didn't i tell you that i am a self-confessed, convicted chocoholic?). also, i've been told that we will be billeted in a mideterranean-inspired hotel, with a charming, intimate villa set-up.

for now, i'll just keep my fingers crossed. i don't want to expect. rather, i would just allow myself to be surprised with whatever that is waiting for me there... gotcha!

i got lost again!

yeah, don't laugh.. i got lost again.. it happened just last sunday night. i packed all my things (have i told you about my transfer?) and drove all the way from tagaytay. i dropped my bags at my temporary residence in makati then immediately proceeded to find my way to quezon city. unfortunately, i inadvertently took the wrong route and saw the sign "manila". it took a while before i saw the opportunity to make a u-turn. good thing, no mmda traffic aide was in sight or else.. anyway, afterwards, for the second time that same night i got lost again. i found myself using the skyway of the south superhighway. i paid P170 (P85 for entrance & same for exit) for the toll fee. well, that's still a small price to pay. the important thing is, i arrived in quezon city safe and sound that night. now, that's what i call a blessing. :)

2007 philippine bar exam results

i got a text message from gui this afternoon. accordingly, the bar examination results will be released tonight. mona, my friend and distant relative, is one of those who took the bar in 2007. i'm hoping and praying she will pass the bar exams. i admit i have an ulterior motive. if given the chance, i would like her to be my counsel in my annulment case, pro bono of course. hehe. oh God, please let her pass. promise i will be good.. :)

speechless!

help! i have a dry cough and worse, i have no voice! this is nightmare! to think i have a singing engagement tomorrow (hehe. just a videoke gig and everything else in laguna. hopefully, it will push through). i guess when i arrive home tonight, i'll just have to munch a lot of ginger, with eyes closed and controlled tears. anyway, i pray that tomorrow morning, while driving my car to work, i would be humming my favorite songs disguised as and/or a.k.a. my vocal exercise. isn't that great?! :)

celebration!

that night, i ate a lot of chocolates (sorry gui, but i was tempted.. promise, i'll try to replenish what i took. hehe). i did not feel any guilt munching those melt-in-your-mouth (no! not M&M!) goodies. ummm, yummy!

well, just blame it to my sugar count..

blood sugar count..

i had my blood sugar count just this morning. it was scary just to imagine of that needle pricking my poor little index finger even for a 1/10 of a second. but when i found out that my sugar count is only 91, i rejoiced!!! all along, i've been wrong with what i thought that i am a strong candidate for that not-so sweet illness. to think that i had my breakfast just 3hrs before that count.. to think that i am a convicted choco addict (yes, i'm guilty..) as evidenced by the fact that i (almost!) never run out of stock in my cabinet.. to think that.. oh, never mind! i'm just so happy now. :)

cruisin' at slex - part 2

where was i? okay, yeah now i remember. i was at slex right? well, i encountered this what i call as, "death-defying swerving machine" a.k.a. public bus. my instict suddenly reminded me of what i was taught in my driving school - defensive driving. well, that serves me right 'coz i arrived in alabang safe and sound. my adventure there is another story. but for now, let me fast-forward by talking about what happened when i was on my way back home. i was again at slex. as i drove, i watched out for the sign that says, "to tagaytay". but i found nothing! then, i began to be filled with horror again! (that's an overstatement, by the way. hehe). this time, i could feel the sweat easing on my forehead. how could i not? it was dark already. then, i saw the sign that says "southwoods exit". should i go in there or not? but i did not! i drove past that and continued on my crazy journey. that time, i was hoping i wouldn't, but i was already half-expecting to, read a banner saying,"welcome to camarines sur!".

then, as if a bright light signaled me to read the sign, "to carmona/dasmariñas", i decided to make a right turn and made my way to carmona. i stopped by a gas station and asked for directions to dasmariñas. there i was told that i was heading towards... the opposite direction! well, it's okay. i've only driven for about 100meters only from where i was supposed to take a right turn instead of left. so, i made a u-turn. then i passed by southwoods.. as i tried to dissect whether it was a bad decision to take carmona instead of southwoods, i realized i was still thankful that i did not choose the latter. had i taken it, i would have gotten lost as few vehicles entered that subdivision. i did not also take the shortcut road going to silang. it was a road less travelled anyway especially at nighttime. when i reached dasmariñas, i heaved a sigh of relief. i began singing (or was i already screaming then?! i wonder..) to my heart's content trying to outdo the singer on the radio while driving a familiar uphill route to tagaytay. whew! what a journey!

cruisin' at slex - part 1

what an adventure! yesterday, i mustered all my courage to go to alabang all by myself! i was unsure of the route but nevertherless, i jumped right in and hit the road. all i had with me was a trickle memory of the path my boss & my colleague always chose whenever we travel to manila. "trickle" in the sense that.. never mind! just read on and you'll understand why. anyway, from tagaytay i took a right turn to silang then proceeded to carmona. everything went out smoothly. i hummed as i listened to the music over the radio. however, i began to panic when i entered southwoods! i was confused which way to take! there i wished i hadn't taken a nap or chatting with my colleague or texting or talking on the phone while travelling! i should have paid attention to the landmarks we passed by.. good thing, my sixth sense ordered me to follow those vehicles ahead of me although the rebel in me was screaming to go against the tide. to make the story short, i finally found my way to slex and cruising at a devil's speed (forgive my profanity). it was a mad rush! to be continued..

extravagant gastronomic experience

in the midst of preparing our audit observation memoranda, we managed to sneak out from reality and allowed ourselves to be tempted by our insatiable appetites. at around 3:30 o'clock this afternoon, my boss and my colleague were at the Casino just enjoying the moment as we savored the sinful taste of choco monster cake provided by figaro. i gulped when i learned that the choco frost i was sipping costs P205! while a slice of cake is priced at P105! 'though i shouldn't be affected since i did not pay for it, but the fact remains that it was too pricey! i could have a full meal with that! well, life's like that.. what more can i do but just finished my drink bottom up, wiped my plate clean, and move on..

tough decision, yet a better one

Hi again! Many of you (my dear colleagues and acquaintances) have been wondering why i took a major step to move to Tagaytay from the "oh, little town of butuan". Well, let me explain, in part, by sharing to you this excerpt from Robert T. Kiyosaki's book entitled Rich Dad's Cashflow Quadrant. Here it is:

Losers Do the Same Things in Life

People who are afraid of losing do the same things in real life. We all know of:

1. People who stay in marriages where there is no longer any love.
2. People who stay at dead-end jobs.
3. People who hang on to old clothes and "stuff" they will never use.
4. People who stay in towns where they have no future.
5. People who stay friends with people who hold them back. (emphasis MINE)

Well, did i just satisfy your curiousity? Do i need to say more? Just hold on for my next post! :)

countdown to manila

if my mathematics serves me right, it's only 35 days before i'll be transferring to manila. huhuhu. manila here i come! hehehe. you think i must be crazy! but, honestly? i don't know what to feel. i will surely miss tagaytay but at the same i'm looking forward for the challenges waiting for me in manila. in the next few weeks, i'll try to reminisce my memorable stint here in tagaytay and hopefully i will have the time to write it down here in my blog. till my next post! ciao! :)

breakfast in the office

what's wrong with having a breakfast in the office.. err.. office canteen? let me tell you the background of my story. the night before (or shall i say, few hours before?) , i slept at around 1am already.. in the office! i woke up at almost 6am or barely after 5hrs. i went home at 830am just to freshen up in haste with all those bath rituals and stuff. i returned back to the office few minutes before 10am. then, we had breakfast (brunch!) at 1030am. to think it's saturday! i should have been at home still snoring at this time. zzzzz! ngork! gosh, sacrifices.. we have a deadline to beat..

pizza and spaghetti!

We had a sumptuous snacks just this afternoon! Courtesy of, who else? but the proud mother of the newly-passed registered nurse. pizza special and spaghetti from donatello. yummy! yummy! oh, how i wish we could do this celebration everyday. hehe. hey! my clothes are started to shrink already! help!
