Is It The End of the World?

My officemates and I have been joking about the effect of the recent calamities that hit Japan and even some parts of the world.  We were already planning of doing some things that we were not able to do ever in  our own respective lives and/or indulge in things that we having been hopelessly depriving ourselves of  (e.g., food, shopping, and... and sex included! lol!).  Well, trying to lighten up may be our way of coping with the anxiety and fear of what is happening around us.

But seriously speaking, just thinking about the possibility that the world is already ending makes me ponder about life... and death, as well.  Death is so scary, and so certain..  I hope it won't be too soon.. I still want to enjoy life with my loved ones...

Hence, not to soon... Please...

With My Mga Ateng!

I would like to dedicate this space to my mga ateng who took a step forward, transferred to another agency, and... and... and left me all alone... waaaaaaah :(

Nevertheless, I will surely miss the funny and sad moments, not to mention the controlled laughter as well as the periodic bickerings (hehehe), we shared together in the office.

Anyway, I wish them all the luck and happiness in their respective new agencies.  May they find inner peace and joy they long for, this time, in their present endeavor. :)

Yipee! We Have A New Office!

It's exactly one week already since we transferred to a new office.  Actually, it's just an office adjacent to ours.  But the thought that it is newly-painted and installed with a huge shelf, not to mention the fact that our tables were rearranged, is already enough for me to get excited even few weeks before we transferred.  (I don't know with my officemates though. Hehe)

I really like my office space now.  Although it is small, still it is spacious enough for me to move around.  It is accessible to the LCD computer and telephones too.  I can't wait for the cubicles to be installed soon!  With that, I can have my own privacy especially when I am busy working... with something. lol

So Long, Ate Paz

I received a phone call just a few minutes earlier from a colleague and told me the sad news: an officemate has already passed away.  Although it was already expected, as she had been diagnosed with a terminal illness some weeks before, I could not help but still feel a painful sense of loss for Ate Paz.

Just last Friday night, my two officemates and I proceeded to hospital to visit her.  She was already in state of comatose.  Upon seeing her, I almost cried.  I immediately reminded myself that I am neither a kapamilya nor a close friend, hence I was able to keep my tears from falling.  But still, I was depressed. (This explains why I can never qualify as a doctor or a nurse).

I knew her for barely three years only but the impact she had on me lingers on.  She was the only spinster I have ever known who has no attitude problem.  She could crack jokes and could easily join along (which is amazing to me because she always projected a serious aura).  I learned later that she had been a close buddy to her teenage nephews and nieces.

Ate Paz, may you rest in peace...

I Just Bought Extreme Power Saver

I previously blogged about the Extreme Power Saver.  Although I wasn't convinced with the negative feedbacks I gathered online about the product, still I bought it (and my officemate too). Well, I just want to give it a try and see for myself if it really works.

The salesman confirmed that it is really just a capacitor.  Sad to say, up to now, I still don't know what that heck means.  Whatevah!  But just in case it won't lower my power consumption for two consecutive months, I still have the option to return it at Ace Hardware and exchange it with other items at the same price.

Few days from now, my MERALCO bill will be delivered both online and by mail.  My officemate and I are already excited!  Aren't you too?  Nevertheless, I'll post in here my electric bill as soon as it becomes available.

My TV Is Already 10 Years Old!

I just realized this:  the 14-inch TV I have been using is already 10 years old!  And for sentimental reasons, I decided to keep my TV to this day and not give it away (although my four-year old niece already claimed it as hers).

Why sentimental?  It was the first ever appliance that I bought.  Ten years ago, I remember my officemate accompanied me to the local appliance store in Butuan City.  Being a conservative as she is, she suggested that I choose a 14-inch TV as, according to her, a 21-inch TV would be too big for me (although my rented room at that time was spacious enough to accommodate appliances).  To cut the story short, I heeded her motherly advice.

Now, I am thinking of buying a new TV.  Since LED TVs still cost much at present, I would like to settle for a cheaper one.  A LCD TV is a very wise alternative.  This time, I am eyeing for that 42-inch with 720p HD resolution, and more importantly, it's a smart energy-saving device.  How's that?

I guess I will be returning my old TV back to my niece soon.  I'm sure, that spoiled, but very charming, brat will be much delighted! :)

This Is Really Hot!

Woooa!  Weather at this time is unbelievable!

37 degrees celcius!  How's that?!

My officemates went out earlier at around noontime.  They complained of the unbearable hot weather, which was then recorded at 35 degrees celcius only.  What more if it is 2 degrees celcius higher?!

I will be going out in a few minutes.  Wish me luck! :)
