Few hours from now, Manny Pacquiao will once again dominate the tv screens for his boxing fight, this time, with Manuel Marquez. Sad for me, my 11-year old, 14-inch tv is no longer working (that, I hope to blog about sometime in the future). I could have the option of going to the office and watch it at the casino. Or just perhaps monitor the fight online. But then, I am not a sports buff that I would want myself to be. I just watch it, out of curiousity's sake.
I remember, while I was still assigned at Tagaytay, I went malling one Sunday morning. I noticed the mall wasn't usually packed with people. Then I realized, when I heard over the radio played at one of the boutiques, that Manny Pacquiao was on the ring at that moment.
Since I've been planning to buy some christmas presents at 168 shopping mall, today would have been the perfect time. There would be less shoppers bumping each other at the narrow aisles of the mall. There would be no traffic on the road. And the best of it all, pickpocketers would be off-duty from practicing their profession.
The problem now, however, is that I just had my face treated at Slimmer's World. The doctor says that I can't wash the treated area for at least 24 hours. Hence, needless to say that I must stay away from dust and dirt. To sum it all, I would just stay home all day. :(

Luggage I Found
I recently lost a traveling bag. I realized how important it is after it was gone. That 12-year old bag had its sentimental value to me. I was still connected with my first job then at a private auditing firm in Cebu when I bought it for a month-long training in Makati.
Being thrifty that I always am, it took me days before I finally decided to have it for myself. That Voyager bag was my first so-called investment as I spent more than 2.5 grand (US$53) for it. Cheap? If based on today's standards, yes! But going back 12 years before, it was already expensive for me considering that I was still striving as a new associate then.
Fast forward, I recently went to 168 Shopping Mall. I chanced upon this shop which sells traveling bags. I found this red trolley bag which can also serve as backpack and overnight bag. It was priced at P1,500 (US$32) but I was able to haggle and save 40% off the regular price! That's what I love about shopping in 168 Shopping Mall! It is where you learn to polish the art of haggling.
That bag was cute alright, but it was too small for a traveling bag. I still miss my old bag...
Now, I'm planning to purchase a new traveling bag. This time I would like a real big trolley bag, which I can use when I go on vacation for a week or more. As with my old bag, it should be durable enough to hold my voluminous clothes as up to now, I still don't know how to travel light. But most importantly, price should be reasonable so as not to ruin my budget for a grand vacation.
When would that be? Maybe soon...? ;)

Big, Big Sale at SM Mall of Asia
Had it not for the technical problems encountered with our office's internet connection, I would have posted this pre-scheduled article yesterday. Anyway, I'm posting it now. Check the unedited/untouched version below:
SM Mall of Asia will be having its big, big three-day sale starting tomorrow, April 16, 2010. This is a widely-anticipated event for bargain hunters like me.
Don’t get me wrong. You might remember that, I said in my post before that I prefer 168 Shopping Mall over SM Mall of Asia. So, what’s the inconsistency? Actually, there’s none.
Let me emphasize that SM Mall of Asia will be having a big sale. This happens only about 2-3 times a year, if my previous year’s memory serves me right. 168 Shopping Mall, on the other hand, is always on sale, all throughout the year. Since the former rarely offers sale, my officemates and I are always looking forward to it.
Another thing, there are goods for sale in SM Mall of Asia that can’t be found in 168 Shopping Mall. For instance, signature clothes and shoes. Need I say more?
Hope to see you there tomorrow! :)

168 Shopping Galore
I might go to 168 Shopping Mall this weekend. That, I always say to myself every time I feel the urge to unwind somewhere away from my home. But until now, it has not been realized. Why? For one, it is so far from my place of residence. Second, I rather stay at my cool sanctuary than be a victim of El Niño phenomenon outside.
But then, I still long to go to 168. As I often say to my relatives and friends, if I would have to choose between Mall of Asia and 168, I would go for the latter.
Why 168? It is where my energy levels get high every time i buy great finds at great discounts. I guess I share the same sentiments as other women when it comes to shopping. Breezing through a flood of co-shoppers along the narrow pathways inside the mall is a challenging task which shopaholic women like me wouldn't mind taking.
So, will I be able to go to 168 Shopping Mall this weekend? I say, hopefully...
