Spooky Halloween...

Since I was not able to go home yesterday, I spent my time auditing the Treasurer's Report prepared for our Homeowners' Association, while trying to squeeze in the task of rearranging my stuff.  I wasn't mindful of the time as I was too engrossed with doing my thing and knowing that I don't have to wake up early the following day.

Thus, I managed to surf the internet only at around 2 o'clock this am!  But at that moment, I was already aware of the fact that it's already All Saints' Day.  I was starting to get scared.  I then decided not to turn off the light all night long.  I was too afraid that I might see something in the dark.  I would just like to make sure of what that something is, just in case...

Well, the good news is that I survived the night without having any nightmares.  However, the problem now is, what about tonight?  My neighbor said I should have lighted a candle outside my unit for the souls at around 6 o'clock this evening.  It's too late now to do that.

What will I do?  For sure, tonight will be another "lights on" night...

If You Can't Stand the Heat, Get Out of the Kitchen

The hot weather these days is truly unbearable!  Even the animals could not bear to disagree.  Why?  Read on:

Just this morning, on my way to work, I bumped into our Homeowner's Association President.  I was just about to close the gate when she ran to me just to tell me this breaking news:  a snake was found inside a condominium unit, which is just a few meters away from mine!
I don't know how big the snake was but just the thought of having a snake gliding inside your house makes you run in horror and swear not to enter the house again!  At least, for the time being!

Back to the story, accordingly, the snake was found comfortably lounging at the gas stove.   Good for him!  If he intends to reside in there, he should as well, share in paying the house amortization!

Seriously speaking, this is a serious case that everyone should address about.  Because of global warming, animals are now trying to seek comfort in cool places.  Our homes, for that matter, are no exception!

Who would have thought that our homes, which we consider the most comfortable spot on earth, are not the safest place after all?  I suggest that the next time you lie in your bed, maybe you should THOROUGHLY check first what's behind those sheets.

Watch out, maybe that cute little thing might just not want to share the bed with you... Hsssss!  :)

Voters' Registration Bruhaha

Weeks before the deadline of voters' registration, I was already considering transferring my registration from Surigao to Taguig since I might not be able to go to my hometown on election day, anyway.  But then, I hesitated as I got feedbacks that the process of registering would not be easy.  On the eve of typhoon Santi (October 30), I found out too late that, just the night before, the barangay accommodated most of my neighbors at the Police Station for their Police Clearance and they were already scheduled to march to COMELEC the following night.

Knowing my dilemma, the President (of our homeowners' association) took pity on me and accompanied me to the zone leader.  I was lucky enough that I was able to secure the needed Police Clearance without too much effort.  I was relieved further when I saw some of my neigbors as it was already about nine o'clock in the evening then.  The problem started when we were ferried to the barangay hall and waited for (censored!) while I could hear the rain threatening to pour flood-potential water in the area.  Right after we got we wanted, we were advised to proceed directly to COMELEC.  And it was almost midnight!

My neighbors and I (all are beautiful ladies! hehehe) decided to go home as we were already afraid that Santi might join us at the COMELEC office.  Nevertheless, we agreed to meet at seven o'clock the following day.  But then when I woke up that morning, the wind was making scary sounds outside.  Hence, I let Santi do his job while I nestled in bed and slept.  At almost noontime, my neighbors and I trooped to the barangay hall and proceeded immediately to COMELEC office.

There, we were greeted with bad news from acquaintances who just survived the recent Taguig COMELEC stampede.  Good thing, all their bones and skins remained intact.  Hehehe.  Anyway, we were informed that the COMELEC decided to defer the registration to November 3 due to power interruption..

Well, i should say, my registration efforts were swept away by typhoon Santi just like that.  The following day, November 1, I was on my way to my hometown for a week-long vacation.  I guess, I am meant to be in Surigao City on Election Day.  :)
