I wanna go to Easy Street!!!

It's been a long while since I watched a musical.  The last one that I distinctly remember was, "The Sound of Music", which was shown in my alma mater in Cebu.  It was an enjoyable, eye-opener experience and I even had a crush on the Captain then, played by a young priest, who is now married :(

Last November 18, 2016, my colleagues and I went to Newport Performing Arts Theater at the center of Resorts World Manila to watch the musical, "Annie".  I admit I was not able to watch the original (1982) version of the movie from start to end so I was not really much familiar with the story.  I even learned only recently that there were two other movie revivals (1999 and 2014)..

Nonetheless, I was so impressed with the dance performance of the actors when they sang the song, "Easy Street".  It was so cool!  Thereafter I searched for that video in YouTube and voila!  I like the performance in 1999 version better.  I played it countless times even up to this day.  I guess that is my favorite video for now.  :)

While waiting for the show to start..

I'm In A Dilemma

I only have until today, August 30, to decide.  This is about my credit card which I was recently charged an annual fee of P1500.  Normally, I would cancel credit cards when they charge me that.  This time though, the customer service representative offered me something which I would have a hard time to refuse.  In exchange for my payment of the annual fee, I would be given an overnight stay good for two + spa treatment + reward products at Nurture Spa Village in Tagaytay.

That customer service representative must have known that indulging in spa is one of my weaknesses. Hahaha!  I still recall when I was still in Butuan, I would frequently visit spa salons to have a body scrub and/or massage.  When I transferred to Tagaytay, I did the same at Touchpoint.  And when I started to settle in Manila, I availed the promo packages of Fitness First at SM Mall of Asia.  And oh, how can I forget my recent trip to Slimmer's World for a complimentary slimming massage treatment?

Now back to that tempting offer, I am unsure if I'll be able to avail that considering the geographical distance.  Two years ago, I was given a free hotel accommodation in Cebu which unfortunately I was not able to take it.  You see, I already had a plane ticket to Cebu then and from there I would fly to Singapore.  But due to sudden turn of events, I didn't push through.  It would have been the best time for me to indulge.  Yeah, it would have been...

Although Tagaytay is just an hour away from Manila, going there would still take a lot of my time.. and effort.  My cousin's upcoming wedding at Caleruega would be a great excuse  for me to stay at Nurture Spa Village.  But who knows, just like that Cebu vacation, my plans might change.. again..

Whatever my decision will be, I just hope I would still have the time and energy to act on it when I get back from my rescheduled date in Intramuros later...

All Saint's Day Woes

I might not be able to go home next week in time for All Saints' Day.  I already bought my round-trip ticket as early as May.  However, due to circumstances beyond my control as we will be having a meeting anytime next week in preparation for another special audit engagement, I might just let go of my chance to take a short vacation in Surigao.

The problem now is, I don't want to be away from home during either All Saints' Day or All Souls' Day.  I had tried that once when I was still based in Cebu City.  It was eerie.  It seemed that the souls had their way of letting their presence known during their special day.

In my case, it was thru a nightmare.  When I woke up, all I could remember in my dream was "a message  needs to be relayed to Rose".  I don't know who Rose is.  It turned out that "Rose" actually lived in the house where I was residing at.  Until this day, the mystery has not been solved.

On the other hand, just last year, exactly a day after All Souls' Day, the utility woman assigned in our building suddenly changed her schedule from night time to day time of collecting trash from unit owners.  We found out later that somebody poke her on the night of All Souls' Day at the 3rd floor of the building.  Nobody was around then...   It has been said that a white lady was frequently seen at the 3rd and 4th floors of our building.

Although I live at the 2nd floor, who knows that white lady might want to explore and try the lower floors?  Yay!  I guess I should now think seriously about going home...
