Eyeing for another mobile phone...

It was only about more than two years ago when I blogged about my plan to buy a new mobile phone.  And now, I'm planning again. :(

Don't get me wrong.  My smartphone is still in excellent condition.  It is just that, the phone I was using while I was in HongKong (especially!) and is using still is about to bid adieu.  And I'm having a separation anxiety already, for sentimental reasons.. :(

Nevertheless, I would want my next mobile phone to have a digital tv feature (fyi, it's more than a year since I've been TV-less).  And because I'm almost always mobile, I would want the inexpensive type, probably P5,000 or less.  But P10,000?  Hmm, I'm thinking..  Is it practical?  I'm not even sure if I'm going to maximize my use of the phone (fyi again, I have been using my old phone mainly as my alarm clock).  And I'm not also sure if TV signal would still be good when I'm at my condo unit, which is about several floors up from the ground.

Please help me decide... :(

A Missed Opportunity...

Few years ago, an old acquaintance (may his soul rest in peace) mentioned to me that he got a condo unit somewhere in Fort Bonifacio.  He was not a real estate agent (and he didn't need to be one as he was a very well-off man) but he tried to convince me in getting myself a condo there, too.  According to him, it's for investment purposes...

Brilliant idea!  But when I learned that the contract price (at that time!) of units was around a little over one million (as it was on its pre-selling stage then and Fort Bonifacio was not yet as developed as it is now), I backed out!  How could I pay it off with the meager salary I have as a government employee?!  He suggested that I avail of the maximum loan term of say, 20 years, and shorten it eventually when I already have additional means.  The important thing, he pointed out, is I get to own an investment property and start it off with forced savings.  Hard-headed as I always am, I did not heed on to his advise..

Now, I regret that decision.  I heard condo units at Fort Bonifacio cost at around P6 million nowadays.  If only I listened to him.. :(

I'm Expecting Another Electric Shock

Just when I thought that summer days were already over, I spent my recent weekend at home with the aircon striving to keep my condo unit cool all day and night.  In fact, when I left home this morning, I was so uncomfortable with the hot weather that I was almost tempted to take a leave of absence, stay home, and prolong my 3-day vacation with just another day.  Sigh... if only!

I wonder how much will my power consumption costs this time.  I guess I should consider again my deferred plan of buying a cooler fan.  Sigh again...
