It's Another Holiday!

Before P-Noy changes his mind, let me spread first this good news:

November 16 is a National Holiday!

Accordingly, Proclamation No. 60 was signed declaring Tuesday, November 16, 2010, as a national holiday in observance of Eid'l-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).

Trivia (because I didn't know this before):  Eid'l-Adha is one of the two greatest feast of Islam.  (So, could it be that Eid'l Fit-r is the other one?)

This is indeed great not only for Muslims but especially for me who, once in a while, wants to take a break from work and... school.  :)

Finally!

I've been blogging for quite sometime now.  Although I do not update my blogs as frequent as I would like to, at least I still tried.  That's part of the reasons why I didn't bother to purchase my own domain.  However, it's only after I've talked recently to a fellow blogger that I was convinced to finally go ahead with it.

Hence, just a few hours ago, my application for my own domain, http://www.anythingaboutlife.com/, was approved.  My first try, which I made last week, was cancelled due to some technicalities.  Some sort of an omen, perhaps?  With that, I was hesitant to proceed as it might be telling me something.

Actually, I'm in a situation right now (I'll reveal this later, when I'm ready) that might hinder my blogging schedule.  With this fact, buying my own domain might not be practical for now.  But then, the hard-headed child in me, prevailed..

I just hope and pray that I'll be able to make it through... :)

Spooky Halloween...

Since I was not able to go home yesterday, I spent my time auditing the Treasurer's Report prepared for our Homeowners' Association, while trying to squeeze in the task of rearranging my stuff.  I wasn't mindful of the time as I was too engrossed with doing my thing and knowing that I don't have to wake up early the following day.

Thus, I managed to surf the internet only at around 2 o'clock this am!  But at that moment, I was already aware of the fact that it's already All Saints' Day.  I was starting to get scared.  I then decided not to turn off the light all night long.  I was too afraid that I might see something in the dark.  I would just like to make sure of what that something is, just in case...

Well, the good news is that I survived the night without having any nightmares.  However, the problem now is, what about tonight?  My neighbor said I should have lighted a candle outside my unit for the souls at around 6 o'clock this evening.  It's too late now to do that.

What will I do?  For sure, tonight will be another "lights on" night...

Thanks to Angie...

At around 10pm the other night, I made a last-minute call to Air Philippines.  You see, days before that, I had already decided not to go home in time for the All Saints' Day.  But that night, out of the blue, I changed my mind.

I talked to Angie (sorry Angie, I forgot what your surname is).  I tried to negotiate for a change of flight schedule.  Since it was already late then and the approving official was no longer around, Angie advised me to call Air Philippines the following morning.  She was even accommodating enough to offer me that she'll be the one to call me instead.

True enough, she called me yesterday morning.  It was a series of calls as she was trying to update me from time to time of the status of my request.  I was already a bit panicky then as my flight to Surigao was at 1130 that morning.  Good thing, Angie was so patient with me.

In the end, my request was not granted.  Surprisingly,  I wasn't bitter.  Must be because I already expected the remote probability that it will turn out in my favor.  And/or, Angie gave me another option, that is, a full refund of my two-way ticket.

If only all customer service representatives were like Angie, the world would have been a better place to live by...
